Oliver’s Santa Maria under Cree CXB3590 C.O.B.’s
september 15, 2019 om 9:38 am #1374
I let the Santa Maria’s germinate last Saturday and i looked after 24 hours and 18 out of 24 did allready open.i never had seeds which opend so fast
But i made a mistake because the whole setup is new and i had some pots which where to dry for some hours and now i ended up with 20
I should have followed the tip to cover them with kitchenfoil for the first 2 days than this dont happen. My light is 4x Cree CXB 3590 3500k warmwhite they are actually for flowering but work for both.Neon lamps are better because they all get the same lightintensity on each plant and with 20 pots under 4 leds you have to hang it at least 23cm above so that any plant has the same light but this to far away and now they are more stretched than i like.
When is the right time to move them in the big pots? For flowering i have 14 Cree’s on 200x60cm.How long shall i let them under 18 hours if i have 10 females? Are the males usually taler then the females?
Here some photos. It is not 100% sharp but i hope good enough, next week it gets better.
Have a good day.1+september 15, 2019 om 3:17 pm #1375Test@Moderator368 Reputatie punten
@f8f9 off course you can open your own topic about a santa grow, think it’s very important and interesting to see different growers with different setups grow the same strain.0september 15, 2019 om 5:44 pm #1376

Nice to see you will be doing a report of your grow here. I am happy to see yet another Santa Maria grow
@f8f9 I have moved your posts to a topic of your own. This way things are much easier to oversee and keep track of for everyone.
When I look at the last photo you uploaded it looks like you have a 60 degree lens on your COB spot.
Since this creates a really focussed beam of light it may be worth it for you to try the spots without the lenses.
This way you will get a much wider spread of the light creating a more even light intensity across the board.
Because of the wider spread you can also lower the light a bit more, which in turn gives you a higher light intensity
By doing this you will be able to say goodbye to your light/stretch problem.

i m not sure but without the lens the led is not covered and on the description stands dont touch the surface of the led.If they are not covered they get over time full of dust and i dont know how to clean them.I also sealed the screwholes on the heatsink with heatresistent silikon so no dust or water can touch the led surface.Next time i take neons for germinating.
Here a picture from a picture i made about 25 years ago in Manali beside the road. The first 4 leaves touched the soil.Sorry for the quality.0september 17, 2019 om 3:29 am #1398
The light is 22cm at the beginning of the lens.Maybe also a little to much water.I never had so much sand in the soil which makes it heavier and i lift them up to feel how much water is left and so i gave them the first 3 days to much.0september 18, 2019 om 3:50 am #1403
Has somebody ever heard of Electro Horticulture?Stimulating plantgrowth with elecricity.
I thought that this is maybe new to many growers.I hope that we can sucsessfully use this technique.1+september 18, 2019 om 8:31 pm #1414

the 2 week is over and i think they look good but i thought i place them now in the big pots and switch after 3 days to 12 hours.2+september 22, 2019 om 5:34 pm #1485
I want to plant them tomorrow in 20l pots in each 2 plants. I thought 3 days extra growtime that they get a little bigger if i have many males.I thought for the first grow after such a long time i had a little fear that i can’t handle the 12/12 system ,but next time i take also the high pots which Freddy Wortel has than i plant them in the big pots if i know which are the females.

HI everyone, Has somebody ever heard of Electro Horticulture?Stimulating plantgrowth with elecricity. https://archive.org/details/electrohorticult00hullrich/page/n6
Yannick Van Doorn has some readings about it. Intresting but it seems that this old theorie does not take a foodhold.
